The route

Use our route tracker to virtually monitor your progress as you edge closer to your target and beyond. Starting at the beginning of the Tour de France, you’ll virtually weave your way through the glorious French countryside. Remember, the only person you have to beat is yourself!

Stage One: 51 miles

Castle of Noirmoutier to Les Sables-d’Olonne:

Starting at the twelfth century Chateau de Noirmoutier you will cycle 52 miles towards the picturesque seaside town of Les Sables -d’Olonne.

Stage Two: 114 miles

Castle of Noirmoutier to Fontenay-le-Comte

Picking up the route in Les Sables-d’Olonne you will begin to head inland passing just south of La Roche-sur-Yon and towards the northern border of the Parc Naturel Regional du Marais Poitevin. You will then swing round before finishing at Fontenay-le-Comte.

Stage Three: 258 miles

Castle of Noirmoutier to Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul

Continuing from the end of Stage Two, cycle north towards the medieval town of Bressuire before taking a wide loop round towards Cholet, famed for its role in the French Revolutionary Wars. From here, you will head towards Nantes where you will finish at the gothic Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul.

Stage Four: 500 miles

Castle of Noirmoutier to Arc de Triomphe

From the end point of Stage Three set out from Nantes and head towards Angers, famed for being the medieval seat of the Plantagenet dynasty, and onwards towards Le Mans. From here, you will be edging closer to your finish line in Paris, but not before cycling past Chartres, home of the huge thirteenth century Cathedrale Notre-Dame. Finally, you will reach Paris and the end of your epic 500 mile cycle. Enter the city from the South-East before passing the Eiffel Tower and completing the traditional celebratory procession down Avenue des Champs-Elysees.
